Legal Assistance and Public Advocacy Since 1997

The National Whistleblower Legal Defense and Education Fund was founded in 1997 by attorney-directors of the National Whistleblower Center and the partners of the whistleblower law firm of Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto. The Fund’s Attorney Referral Program helps connect whistleblowers with attorneys. The Fund accepts intakes from government and private-sector, who report various issues, including retaliation, qui tam, and lawsuits filed under the Dodd-Frank Act, among numerous other laws. Please note, trustees do not review whistleblower intakes to the referral system nor receive case referrals from our system. If you are trying to contact a trustee to review your case or to receive your case, please email them at help@report-fraud-now.info.

A History of Protecting Whistleblowers

Due to the tremendous need to find attorneys to represent whistleblowers facing retaliation, the Fund created a legal assistance program for whistleblowers, attempting to find attorneys to represent them. This program has connected hundreds of whistleblowers with attorneys, many of whom have won significant cases.  The Fund has never charged whistleblowers a fee for these services.

A History of Support

The Fund supports the National Whistleblower Center (NWC) through legal representation, primarily by filing amicus curiae briefs in precedent-setting cases and through co-founding and maintaining online educational resources, including www.whistleblowersblog.org, which evolved from the Whistleblower Protection Blog to the online newspaper Whistleblower Network News in 2020.

The Fund is independent of the NWC, but provides legal representation to the NWC and helps fundraise for the NWC. Neither the National Whistleblower Center nor the Whistleblower Legal Defense and Education Fund can provide legal advice as part of the Attorney Referral Program (“ARP”) intake process. To ensure the independence of the referral process, neither the Fund nor the NWC refer cases to themselves or attorney-employees or directors of these organizations.

Please note, trustees do not review whistleblower intakes to the referral system nor receive case referrals from our system. If you are trying to contact a trustee to review your case or to receive your case, please email them at help@report-fraud-now.info.
